Four Ways Buggy is Reshaping School Transportation

From our first launch in 2019, Buggy has been doing things differently and reforming the child transportation space--which was in dire need of change! Little has improved in the last 50 years since the yellow-school bus, which simply doesn't meet the needs of many modern families.  We are on a mission to solve the hardest transportation pain-points for families. Here are a few ways Buggy is moving the needle forward:

Reducing carbon emissions for a healthier planet
For every one Buggy on the road (with capacity for 13-16 kids) we take approximately 9 personal cars off the road. That equates to millions of gallons of gas saved, not to mention significantly reduced air pollution around our schools and in our communities.

Broader school choice options for kids
Between charters, magnet program and private schools, it's not uncommon for kids to have a 30 minute to one hour commute to school in Miami. Sometimes,, transportation can mean the difference between a child finding a school that is the right fit--or not. Buggy helps bridge that gap and make it possible for families to manage kids at multiple schools.

Flexible dropoff locations to allow for more extracurricular options
Similar to broadening school choice, there are extracurriculars that require travel. Not every area has all the options kids need, or at an affordable price. Buggy has helped enable kids to get to gymnastics, karate, dance, therapy and a host of other enrichment activities they wouldn't have made it to otherwise.

Assisting with co-parenting between 2 separate addresses

Children whose parents are divorced already deal with extra logistical challenges. Shuttling between mom and dad can sometimes impact their extracurriculars, social life and even, in some cases, school attendance. Buggy offers a clear value add to families with this specific challenge to overcome, and we sometimes assist in formulating the best schedule to make everyone's life easier.  It's not uncommon for parents to split the cost, since when both agree: "We need Buggy"!
